Thank you to everybody who has purchased Produce Pal so far!

We wanted to share with you some of the features that will be in the next couple of releases. Along with new fruits and vegetables, we plan on adding in:

  • Facebook & Twitter integration.
  • An in-app way for you to provide us feedback for each produce item so we can refine our data (information such as price paid and how accurate our information is).
  • Live updates — So you don’t need to download a new version of the app to get new information on produce. When we update our database, your app will automatically download that data.

    • Not all these features will be in the next update, but they are coming within the next month or two. Do you have any other features you would like to see? Please let us know.

    • A major bug has been fixed that caused the application to be unusable for iPhone 3G and older devices, as well as iPod Touches.
    • The application should now load much faster than it used to.

Apparently there is a critical bug in Produce Pal for older iPhone and iPod Touch devices that is causing the application to crash on startup.

    We’re not sure how this slipped past our testing and quality control process, as well as Apple’s review process….but it did.

    We dove into our code and already found the bug. It has been fixed and a patch has already been submitted to Apple. We requested an expedited review, which would get this patch out in a day or two instead of needing to wait over a week.

    The Apple App Store review process is always scary time for developers. The smallest bug in your application can cause a rejection to occur. We have tested our software throughly, though, and have no outstanding issues. We expect a smooth review process and, should that be the case, project the app to be available on Thursday, July 22nd.
