Launch & Reception

Produce Pal as the #1 'New & Noteworthy' App

The Produce Pal iPhone app was originally released on July 21, 2010 and was instantly recognized by Apple as one of the "New and Noteworthy" apps, getting placed on the App Store front page, where it stayed for two weeks.

Over time, the product has received generally positive reviews, getting an average of 3.5 out of 5 stars. Positive remarks have been around the ease of finding the information about the produce that the user is interested in getting. Negative remarks have been about the simplicity of the information provided. To the defense of the product, however, Silton Solutions argues that the purpose of Produce Pal is to provide quick and useful information for shoppers and it should not be thought of as a resource for in-depth information about produce.

It was released at the price of US $2.99, but has since dropped down to US $0.99.
